2016 Reading Challenge 6 Months Update

Long time no see! How are ya’ll doing? For a lot of reasons, I can’t wait for this year to end! And when I think of December of this year, along with a million other things in my head, I can’t help but think about my ambitious reading challenge I announced last year  I said I will update my progress quarterly but failed miserably! I haven’t made a great progress in the challenge either, considering my state. Health hasn’t been on me and my family’s favor this year. But hoping for a better year next year

So my progress so far has been as follows:

I read Dear John (find the review here) which was not on the reading challenge list but I had already started by the time I came up with the challenge. That took me almost a month to finish! It wasn’t a great book overall, could read just once when you have no books in your list

Girl on the Train was the first book I read in my Kindle. Not sure if I would be doing a review on it soon, since I have forgotten most of it already! Let’s see, if time permits

To Kill A Mockingbird truly a classic book. Deserves the Pulitzer it won almost 60 years back! Makes me wanna read Harper Lee’s new novel ASAP.

Agatha Christie – Murder on the Orient Express. Agatha does magic again with this one. But this is one of those crime novels which are conventional yet has a lot of twists. I’ll do a review on it soon. I can’t wait to read some more of her books.

Anne Frank: Diary of a Young Girl. The journey of a young Jew girl in hiding for 2 years during the Nazi attack in Netherlands. It doesn’t talk much about the war, attack or politics. But you will still be in awe of the hope, positivity and a desire to live in the girl who could have just given up easily out of despair. Its heart-wrenching, if you put your feet in her shoes and read her diary.

That’s my progress so far and looks like I may not be able to complete rest of the books since most of them are gigantic! But like I always say, “Hope, takes us farther, always”. Reading makes me happy and I will try and read at least some of the books in the list before the end of the year

How many books have you read this year so far? Do share it below in the comments!
